I think a photo shoot in a field is my jam, I'd do every single photo shoot in a field - any field, if given the opportunity!

So, I'm not gonna lie - I don't like doing photo sessions anywhere near Lake Norman... I've had some tough lighting issues over the years & to me, the actual lake just doesn't photograph as well as it looks - this is all MY opinion! LOL
So I was a bit apprehensive when when my long time client suggested the lake again... only to my surprise, I ended up really loving everything about it. I decided to embrace the whole lake fully, it was a mind change & I think I have overcome my old view of lake photo sessions ;)
This is from October, my 3-year old is obsessed with dressing up and she got a real kick outta this photo!

Wow! So I just imported this little Photography blog I had & obviously didn't keep it up, first post was around 2010 & last one was 2012! lol I had a second blog connected via my old website which is now gone as well!! Soooo sad! So I suppose I'll start up now & see what I can share... I had a busy fall, as I start to get my feet wet again & figure out how to manage my workload...
We were so lucky on this shoot - the day was dark & cold (not that you can tell because everyone was such a good sport!)... and, then as we were wrapping up, the most beautiful sunset emerged & we got some nice sun-drenched shots. That was a surprise, that not even the weather-forecasters predicted!
This park is down the street from us... It's gorgeous, even in the almost dead of winter...
We took a trip down to Delaware to visit some of our best friends (Kirk & Laurie) in September, and met their newest baby boy, Boyd.
One evening we went out to get some updated family pictures of this new family of four.
As you can see, their 2-year old, Cole wasn't really having any of it... But we managed to get at least some pictures of him in action.

And, Cole took off several times...
So, this gorgeous lady is pretty amazing... considering she is currently 33-weeks pregnant with TWIN BOYS who are each the size of full-term SINGLE babies @ 33 weeks.
I'm lucky enough to have had to travel 3,000 miles from California to Florida, only to meet this girl, who went to a High School 10 minutes away from mine & who graduated the SAME year as me (small world). Cassandra, her husband & my husband will all be graduating from the UF MBA program, this spring... Oh yeah, I failed to mention that Cassandra also works full-time & is also getting her MBA, could we ask her to do a little more?? ;)
She'll be full-term in THREE weeks & I'm dying to meet these two cute little boys... Nicholas & Issac.
Really... TWINS??? She makes us, pregnant women with only ONE look bad!
Her husband Pete (who also went to a near-by High School from mine, but 10 minutes south), has quite an impressive book collection & actually came up with the great idea to get the bookshelf in on the picture-action.
Pete & Cassandra actually came up with their sons names, using these two books. Pretty cool!

These pictures were from a month ago, they are of Laurie's "surprise gender baby" which was a BOY!! It's crazy to think that this is the little man that was in Laurie's belly for all those months!
Thanks to my friend & one of the best Gainesville photographers, Jaime Swanson, we did my first official newborn session. It was really interesting to watch how she she went about doing it, plus she helped me out with a few of my camera settings. Here is the end result for me...
Meet Baby Cole
This baby is going to have a tough time choosing which college team to be a fan of... because currently he's a University of Kentucky, Ohio & a UF Gator fan. As an insurance to the Gators, I made sure he put on this hat when Kirk & Laurie weren't looking! ;)
Although we won't know which team he'll choose in the end to love, we do know for certain he'll be quite the football fan & football player! :)
I'm lucky that my first try at taking Maternity Photos was with my gorgeous friend Laurie, who will be expecting her first child, who is a SURPRISE gender baby later this month! I'd like to say right now that my guess is that she is pregnant with a boy (Cole), but I would also like to add that I would be EQUALLY thrilled if little Julia came into this world... mainly because I'd like to dress her up & take millions of pictures of her, because IF it's a girl... I know she'd be gorgeous like her Mama!! Either way, I'm absolutely dying in anticipation because I am NOT a patient person & I've known of this precious bundle of joy since mid-January! So... here is my friend, Laurie.... beautifully pregnant with SURPRISE #1!! :)
I originally met this family on Fri. afternoon for our "meadow/field" shoot, however I was unsure of how the pictures were turning out (I actually ended up really liking them), because the little man wasn't having the best day - so we said "What the heck! Let's just take a few more pictures tomorrow morning". This is how we had our two mini-sessions! They are both completely different, so it was fun to do! Here is "take 2!" :)
My first major attempt shooting a family in manual mode with very little light.... I take many valuable lessons with me from this shoot & thank my dear friends for letting me capture their adorable family - which will most likely be expanding in the next few years (Diana is an exceptional Mother!) Anyway... more to come! :)
This is my first attempt at Engagement Photography, thanks to our friends Jeremy and Maria. They will be getting married in January 2011. Garrick knows Jeremy from school and they are a very sweet couple.

I have abandoned my blogging & it's really sad because it always makes me feel so happy, when I feel like I'm being productive... I'll try to get back into the swing of things... but for now, this will be my last post!
It wasn't my intention or my desire to start things up & then take a break... unfortunately I did not consider how tough it would be to juggle everything once Garrick (my husband) moved out to CA to start his summer internship... HOWEVER!!!! I have some fun projects lined up in about a week & a half, I'll be shooting some sessions with some great people in CA, so please - check back in a couple weeks! I haven't gone anywhere, permanently! :)

I met up with these two cuties & their mom, Elissa at the park. Boy! Was I being adventurous when I decided my first photo shoot would be of 7 month old twins!! I had a really great time trying to get both these little guys to look at the camera for me at the same time... As you can see, it wasn't totally impossible! ;) Thank you Elissa, Jakob & Mikel!
